P E Wilson & Co commenced on 2 January 2001 and was officially opened on 5th February 2001 by the then Mayor of Lambeth, Mrs Clare Whelan. P E Wilson & Co operates from 106 Norwood High Street, London SE27 9NH.
Phil Wilson is the proprietor and solicitor who started his legal career as an office junior law clerk with a firm of City solicitors before moving on to a West End firm. After six years experience of clerking in the High Court, Divorce and Probate Registry etc he left to qualify as a solicitor and later set up P E Wilson & Co.
OBJECTIVES
P E Wilson & Co offers services in both contentious and non-contentious matters normally associated with a “High Street” practice. The firm’s client’s includes public, private and business clients who all benefits from the range of quality legal services provided to them.

We currently provide public funding otherwise referred to as Legal Aid in:

The firm is approved by the LEGAL AID AGENCY for providing public funding work and therefore has a Certificate of Approval called the SQM or Specialist Quality Mark.
The firm is audited periodically to ensure standards are kept.

All other works are privately funded.
These consist of Wills, Probate, Employment, Business, general litigation and advice.
Most of our clients are through recommendations and referrals.
COSTS
The firm runs a fixed fee diagnostic scheme including a fixed fee package for those client’s who are not eligible for legal aid or their matters are not covered by legal aid.

PROBATE TIME SCALE
Application for the Grant of Probate
This can take up to 8-12 weeks. However we are in the hands of the Probate Registry and HMRC. We will however do our best to obtain the grant as soon as possible.
Straight Forward Matters
Once the Grant is obtained the estate can be administered and wound up within 3-12 months for completion depending on the assets of the estate.
Complex Matters
Once the Grant is obtained the estate can be administered and wound up within 6-18 months for completion depending on the assets of the estate.

NOTE

TRIBUNAL TIME SCALE
The following is just an estimate of the tribunal hearing process. However during the process, we will keep you updated and let you know about the relevant dates for the management of your case and let you know if the costs and timescales change and provide a revised estimate.
It should also be noted that the vast majority of clients will resolve the claim before tribunal proceedings are necessary normally within 4-6 weeks.
Factors that will impact on the timescale:
- If a settlement is reached before the claim is issued
- If a settlement is reached before your employment has terminated,
If so, your case can take as little as 1-4 weeks to resolve.
If your claim proceeds to a Final Hearing,
- Your case is likely to take approx 6-12 months. But this will depends on when the Employment Tribunal arranges for the Final Hearing will take place.
- In complex cases, it is not unusual for hearings to be listed 18 months after the dismissal takes place.

- Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as court fees or fees for barrister/doctors or other experts. We arrange the payment of the disbursements on your behalf but need to be put in funds to do so.

- Barristers fees can range between £1500 - £4500 plus vat depending on their seniority per day
- Doctors fee for reports can range between £70.00 - £150 depending on the report required
- Other experts fees can range between £500 – £2500.
